Oxford City Stars lept up two places in the league to sixth place after defeating the Bristol Pitbulls 5-3 with a hat-trick from Joe Edwards as well as a goal a piece for Sam Broughton and Darren Elliott. It was Oxford’s first game in the league for five weeks, and they impressed with a fluid display to defeat their rivals.

Stick and Puck this Sunday!

Want to try out Ice Hockey? Stick and Puck is the ideal place to do this for 6-16's year olds. All kit and equipment is provided and trained coaches are on the ice all times to show and teach the game.

Sessions start at 4:15pm and are FREE OF CHARGE and any child who attend will receive free entry to the evenings Oxford City Stars game. If you plan to attend, ensure that you arrive at least 15 minutes before to allow time for kitting up.

It's a busy weekend, with six different Oxford sides out and about both at Oxpens Road and around the the country. Oxford City Stars take on Bristol Pitbulls in one of most eagerly anticipated league match so far this season on Sunday at 6:15pm at Oxford Ice Rink.. Bristol, who also competed along with Oxford in ENL1 last season, had to step down to NIHL2 in the season break and their squad includes four ex-Oxford players.

Raff and Josh Oliver score but can't stop Invicta in 11-2 defeat

Oxford City Stars suffered a heavy defeat against Invicta Dynamos in the NIHL Cup. The first division side ran out 11-2 winners after establishing themselves early on after taking a four goal lead in the first period. Josh Oliver scored for Stars as well as Michael Raff that scored his first goal in senior ice hockey.

It's a busy weekend with six matches involving Oxford clubs around the sections. Oxford City Stars take on Invicta Dynamos in the NIHL Cup on Saturday evening at Oxpens Road. Invicta have recently gone through a few roster changes with the re-signing of Anthony Leone from Romford Raiders while Brad Watchhorn has decided to take a break from hockey to pursue his MMA career.

The Oxford U18’s got their first points of the season in a thrilling 9-7 win against Streatham last week. Going into the game, both teams were looking to put an end to a winless start to the season and move up the league table. The Oxford team was strengthened again by the addition of 3 U16 players and we were delighted to have nearly 3 lines for the first time in the season.

Sam Arnold promoted to full roster

Oxford City Stars today confirmed that they had promoted Sam Arnold to the full squad from their alternate list for the remainder of the season. Sam was brought into the squad as injury cover for the Peterborough Islanders game back in September and impressed the coaches with a series of a solid performances.

Sam, a product of the Stars junior system played his final year as an Under 18 last season averaging just under a point a game. He has played up to the ENL2 side in the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons playing seven games a season and picking up valuable experience in that team.
